This love is not for cowards is a photographic book documenting lived experiences from 2003 to 2018. Its images capture fleeting moments and witnessed stillness across North America and Europe, from the intimate serenity of vacant architecture to the dramatic scale of national parks. The individual photographs and the juxtapositions created by the book’s design prioritize the impressionistic rather than the documentary. The intent is to activate sense memories, first to recall what it felt like to be in those places at those times, and later to reflect on how these places and their experienced moments have become part of a personal language of beauty, love, longing, and death. The book's title comes from one of its photographs. The image is of graffiti text on a wall, taken quickly through the window of a moving bus in Mexico City, "ESTE AMOR NO ES PARA COBARDES," and it expresses a truth.
